dscrb is a native macOS app by Lumik. No account is required.

Captures and comments

The screen is captured only when you start capture mode. Confirmed screenshots, pen strokes, and comments stay in memory until you choose to copy or export. dscrb does not automatically upload them or record continuous video. Quitting clears the session.

Clipboard and exported files

Copying creates temporary local files so other apps can receive real image attachments. Those files remain after dscrb quits, so clipboard references keep working. macOS may later clear its temporary directory. Pasting into another app shares the selected content with that app under its own privacy policy.

Permissions

Screen Recording access lets dscrb capture your selected regions. Accessibility access is used only for the optional direct-paste action. Capturing and manually copying do not require Accessibility access.

Software updates

Direct-download builds use Sparkle to check for signed updates over HTTPS. Update checks request version information and update files; screenshots and comments are never included. Standard network information, such as your IP address, is visible to the download host. Development builds do not check for updates.

This website

This site uses no analytics scripts, advertising, tracking cookies, or accounts. Cloudflare hosts it and processes requests to serve the site. The download endpoint checks the published release feed.
